Paulina “Lucy” Sears
Hi! I’m Lucy, the guardian of R2-KT 47. We live in Missouri City, just outside of Houston. I’ve been a member of the 501st Legion and Rebel Legion since 2013, and later joined the Dark Empire and Saber Guild. I’m a native Bostonian, raised just south of the city in Middleboro, Massachusetts and relocated to Texas in 2015.
The first time I saw photos of the adorable pink droid R2-KT, I knew I had to learn more. After reading her story, I was completely captivated. In 2017, at Star Wars Celebration Orlando, I had the incredible opportunity to meet Albin Johnson and the original R2-KT during the Ladies of the Legions panel. Seeing her in person was truly special. Inspired by that experience, I researched the Ambassadroids Corps and immediately knew I wanted to be part of its mission.
Over the following years, we slowly gathered parts, selected paints, and learned from the talented droid builders in our community. It was a long journey, but with the support and guidance of our friends in the Houston Area Droid Builders, our beautiful pink astromech finally began to come to life.
R2-KT 47 made her unofficial debut at Comicpalooza 2026. Her QR code was scanned countless times, helping people discover R2-KT’s story and mission. Watching others learn about her and connect with her legacy was incredibly rewarding.
I am truly honored to be R2-KT 47’s guardian and look forward to continuing to spread awareness, hope, and joy through her and the amazing Star Wars communities that make experiences like this possible.
