AmbassaDroids – KT41 – Michigan, USA

default

My name is Mike Prior, I live in Howell, MI and I started building my first astromech droid in 2020 and KT is now my 3rd Astromech. Within the last couple years I learned about R2-KT and since then this hit close to home. I lost my mom in 2017 to cancer and wanted to build something in her memory/legacy, along with keeping the beloved Katies legacy alive as well. I have been 3d printing droids but this is my first wood frame build and I am glad I chose to go this route. I started slowly getting parts and 3d printing pieces as well earlier this year, but after this years droidcon it was on to build her. After a few months of nonstop building I am ready to join the pink side!

I have met so many amazing people, and gained a lot of new friends over the years through the R2 builder page and the Mr. Baddeley Printed droid page and I am excited to see the adventures this build and I will have together. To me this is an amazing build to remember/honor my mother as well as remembering Katie.
