My name is Abilio I’m 34 and I’m from Portugal. I have always liked Star Wars, but the real turning point was December 2013. That was the first time I came into contact with the 501st Legion, and it was then I realized the positive impact we can have on our community. As a result, four months later I was approved with my first costume in April 2014.
The actions we carry out in the community are, without a doubt, one of the things I am most proud to say I do and take part in. Bringing smiles to both young and old is one of the most rewarding things there is, and the only way to truly understand it is by experiencing it. I completed my 100th action in 2019 and I continue to add more, with even greater enthusiasm.
The construction of my KT began in 2021 after participating in Pink Force Day with the Spanish Garrison, where I realized that we could have an even greater impact on the community, focusing our actions more specifically on children. Since then, the process began—vague and very abstract at first—because there was so much to learn along the way. But with the right focus and persistence, we arrived at what we have today.
I conclude with my own words that summarize the reason behind this droid: focus, persistence, and motivation. This is what I have and what I intend to pass on to others, so that we can move our events and our R2-KT forward together.
