Story :
My daughter had a cancer scare way back when living in Florida. After a barrage of tests, luckily she was clear. At the time I was doing events for arcades with a friend named Matt Paisley, some of them with the 501st. Matt and his team built Roxy the Rancor, so we added his talents and droids to our events. At the time my daughter was five and she ran from the droids!
A decade or more later we moved back to UK. Here, space is limited but I still have my Star Wars arcade game and added a Bambu p1s 3D printer and stumbled across Michael Baddleys group. The projects looked really neat so I joined the Patreon and away I went. It was a long journey of learning, with a few mishaps as I was learning, then went for the mk4 body. My daughter chose the color at the time, as she’s a barbie girl still. As time went on, I googled more about r2 and what I could learn. That’s when I came across the r2kt story and bam it all fell into place. Our arcade events in the US had been non-profit for charities, and I’m manager at local-owned charity shop. So it all felt like fate to use this cool project my daughter and me built to make others happy like the days of the droid going round the arcade events. I’ve contacted the local droid builders and will be taking mine to their events.
